Client focus, innovation and best-of-breed technology identified as critical criteria In EDS win

EDS today announced EDS Web Hosting has been named winner of CMP Media LLC’s Network Computing 2002 “Well-Connected Award” in the category of Managed Web Hosting Services.

Network Computing's Well-Connected Awards represent the best hardware, software and service solutions evaluated over the past year. EDS’ Well-Connected Award comes in recognition of a winning Web Hosting proposal submitted to the magazine’s Editor’s Choice awards, which EDS won last September.

“The Well-Connected Awards are given to products, technologies and services that have withstood testing by our editors over an enterprise and in real world environments -- they have proven to be essential to meeting business initiatives,” said Fritz Nelson, Publisher of CMP’s Network Computing. “When a product receives a Well-Connected award, it is an important endorsement -- it is the top in its category and carries through with its promise of excellence.”

Editor’s Choice
The Editor’s Choice contest asked companies to respond to a mock RFI for managed Web hosting services. The magazine awarded the honor based on technical competency, competitive pricing and ability to deliver the highest level of security and availability without compromising performance. In its Sept. 3 cover story detailing the winning EDS web hosting proposal, Network Computing said the EDS proposal “reflects substantial attention to client requirements, which are addressed fully with best-of-breed technologies. The vendor does not compromise to win the bid.”

“When we created our RFI to choose a top managed Web hosting provider, we found many companies weren't up to the challenge,” Network Computing writes in its May 13 article on the Web site. “Of those who made the cut, EDS impressed us with the extensiveness of its proposal, showing the insight and knowledge of a long-time player in the outsourcing market.”
