Hostcentric named best host by web hosting magazine

Hostcentric, Inc., one of the nation's leading Internet Infrastructure Solution Providers, was named "Best Host" in a comprehensive, industry-wide survey published in the September issue of Web Hosting magazine.

In this first-ever "Best Hosts Award" survey, hosting companies were judged in several key areas, including financial stability/profitability, breadth of offerings, health and growth, mission, reputation, analyst opinion and Web site user friendliness. The survey even factored experiences of editors placing anonymous sales calls.

In the profile, Web Hosting stated, "…Hostcentric emerged from the rollup of five smaller hosting companies…all of them profitable... The melding has resulted in a seriously tough and meaty player in the hosting, managed services, ASP, media and domain industries." The article continued, "Hostcentric serves up a fat range of goodies: everything from simple shared hosting to managed services with private networking intrusion detection, application monitoring and backup."

Specifically Hostcentric was lauded for "rosy financials," growth "more than 6,000 unique customers and 2,000 hosted sites added in less than a year" and leadership "(Chairman) Fred Pounds brings an impressive resume that includes a stint with Price Waterhouse."

Ranking an estimated 6,000-plus Web hosting companies was no small task as the editors of the article described vividly: "We pored over nomination forms and Web sites till our eyeballs crossed. We crunched numbers till our fingers blistered…we picked the brains of hosts themselves, along with hosting customers, vendors and others…"
